Ilir Alimehmeti, in an interview with A2 CNN, stated that the Democratic Party was weaker than that even in 2022, but that's when they promised openness, re-establishment, and internal democracy — promises that, according to him, were never fulfilled. According to Alimehmeti, people stood for these values, but their disrespect led to a decline in support.
He recalled that the 2022 protest failed to return, referring to the rallies in front of the Prime Minister's Office, one of which will take place tomorrow.
Alimehmeti emphasized that the "one member, one vote" system has costs for many people, but it is essential to find solutions in the internal forums of the DP, "thinking about the best interests of the political force."
According to him, everyone who has the right to vote should vote, but membership should also have clear rules. "In an activity where there are 50 people, it doesn't make sense for 900 people to vote," he said, adding that "we have seen the stuffing of the ballot boxes and they are not acceptable."
