The plenary session was interrupted for the third time after opposition MPs blocked the rostrum immediately after the chair of the session, Niko Peleshi, declared the end of the procedural discussions and announced the start of the presentation of the reports of the Socialist Party and the Democratic Party on territorial reform.
Peleshi allowed the co-chairs of the committee, Arbjan Maznik and Luciano Boçi, to continue presenting their reports. However, opposition MPs opposed the continuation of the session, preventing the majority representative from taking the floor.
Luciano Boçi headed to the podium and stood there, blocking the progress of the proceedings and preventing Maznik from reporting. During the tensions in the hall, the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, asked Nikos Peleshi to withdraw Maznik from reporting, but his request was rejected.
Due to the inability to continue the proceedings, Peleshi announced a five-minute break in the session to consult with the heads of parliamentary groups and await the vacating of the podium.
This was the third time that the plenary session was interrupted due to tensions and deadlock in discussions on the territorial reform reports.
