DP MP Belind Këlliçi has demanded the immediate cancellation of the 35-year concession contract for the Milot-Balldren axis, with an initial value of 365 million euros. According to him, the winning consortium also includes the company "Erald-G", owned by Gëzim Ismail.
In a statement to the media, Këlliçi said that Ismaili appears in the SPAK investigative file in the context of the case of the group known as “Aruba”, suspected of international drug trafficking and money laundering. The Democrat MP claimed that, according to the investigative materials, Ismaili is the brother-in-law of Luciano Koçek, one of the suspects in this case, and that his company was used as a facade for investments aimed at legalizing money of criminal origin.
"This individual, according to the SPAK investigation file, is being investigated as one of the 'launderers' of money laundering for one of the cocaine trafficking clans from Latin America to Europe. The file shows that Ismail is the brother-in-law of Luciano Koçek and has served as a facade through which criminal money has been integrated into construction projects," declared Këlliçi.
He added that the company "Erald-G" has won hundreds of public tenders over the years and raised questions about the fact that, according to him, a subject under investigation continues to be part of high-value contracts financed by public funds.
According to Këlliç, the company has not only not been placed under seizure, but is part of the winning consortium of the tender for the Milot-Balldren axis, which he described as the most costly procedure in the history of Albanian road infrastructure.
The Democratic MP called on SPAK to place the company "Erald-G" under seizure and investigate all tender procedures benefiting from it, while also demanding the cancellation of the concession procedure for this road axis.
At the end of his statement, Këlliçi addressed political accusations against Prime Minister Edi Rama, holding him responsible for the way, according to him, public funds have been administered and demanding his removal from power.
