In his capacity as Head of the Special Structure against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK), Altin Dumani paid an official visit to Washington DC, in the United States of America, on September 2 and 3, 2025. During this visit, Dumani held high-level meetings with important representatives of American institutions, including the Department of State, the Department of Justice, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
At the center of the discussions was the importance of strengthening cooperation between SPAK and American law enforcement agencies, with the aim of combating international criminal organizations, preventing illegal drug trafficking, and combating money laundering. Dumani emphasized the importance of strategic cooperation with the United States and expressed his gratitude for the continued support provided to SPAK and Albanian institutions in this regard.
???? Participation in the DEA Conference
In addition to the meetings in Washington, Dumani previously participated in the International Conference on Narcotics Law Enforcement, organized by the US Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), which took place in Nashville, Tennessee, on August 26–28, 2025. The conference, with the theme “Global Unity for a Safer Future: Strengthening Alliances Against Transnational Crime”, was welcomed by the United States Attorney General, Pamela J. Bondi. At this event, Dumani held a special meeting with the DEA Administrator, Terrance Cole, where the existing cooperation between Albania and the United States in the fight against international drug trafficking was appreciated. The parties emphasized the importance of continuing and expanding this cooperation in the future.
The SPAK Director also had meetings with leaders of important law enforcement agencies from various countries participating in the conference. The discussions focused on creating new bridges of communication and strengthening existing relationships, with the aim of increasing effectiveness in the joint fight against international drug trafficking and organized crime.
This visit and participation in international activities once again confirm SPAK's role as a reliable partner in global efforts for justice and security.
