SPAK announced the indictment against 17 defendants, accusing them of being part of a criminal group that cultivated hashish in greenhouses in Berat during 2021-2022. In total, they were sentenced to 133 years in prison. According to SPAK, the amount of cannabis cultivated was 1.7 to 1.8 tons.
For 4 of the defendants, Bashkim Mema, Drita Mema, Izmire Mema and Edison Mema, the suspension of their prison sentences and their placement on probation for 3 years were requested.
