
The Police Supervision Agency has executed the Court's decisions against 4 Kavaja Police officers, with different duties at the time of the incident and currently, who are accused of abuse of office, as they failed to prevent the cultivation of drug plots in the areas they covered.
AMP confirmed today the suspension of Commissioner Afrim Meçe, Deputy Commissioner Edlir Kazazi, Inspector Rosario Çollaku and Deputy Commissioner Saimir Kazazi.
The suspended employees are:
Commissioner Afrim Meçe – at the time of the incident, Head of the Section for Investigation of Major Crimes at the Kavajë Police Station; currently with the same function at the Divjaka Police Station;
Deputy Commissioner Edlir Kazazi – Specialist for the Investigation of Major Crimes at the Kavaja Police Station;
Inspector Rosario Çollaku – at the time of the incident, sub/specialist of Community Policing in Kavaja; currently transferred to the Urban and Interurban Traffic Service;
Deputy Commissioner Saimir Kazazi – Specialist and Coordinator for Community Policing at the Kavaja Police Station.
Investigations conducted by the AMP revealed that the above employees did not undertake the necessary controls to prevent the cultivation of narcotic plants in the area they covered. As a result, an area of 550 cannabis plants, planted in the territory that these officers were tasked with monitoring, was discovered and seized.
Investigations are continuing to fully clarify individual responsibilities and to verify whether other employees are involved.
