Journalist Klodiana Lala, invited to the "Opinion" show on TV Klan, commented today on the process of electing the new head of SPAK, which is expected to take place tomorrow. Lala stated that there is a clash between the government and internationals regarding this election.
According to Lala, the internationals have a preferred prosecutor to take over the leadership of SPAK, while the government has its own interests. "There is a clash between the internationals and the government. We have four candidates and one of them is a woman. The candidates are Adnan Xholi and Klodian Braho, career prosecutors, as well as Elvin Gogaj, who worked in the Elbasan Prosecutor's Office and then returned to SPAK," said Lala.
The journalist added that many diplomats will be present at the High Prosecutorial Council (KLP) tomorrow, while internationals will carefully follow the process. Each candidate will present on the most important issues they have investigated. After the interviews are completed, the KLP will hold an open vote, and in the event of a runoff there will be a second vote.
Lala also stressed that after the election, Altin Dumani's successor will be appointed. "Representatives of the US embassy will be very present. Internationals consider SPAK a very important institution for Albania and have a preference for a candidate who cannot be easily influenced by politics," she stated.
