The Director of the State Police, Ilir Proda, has dismissed the Director of the Korça Police, Erion Ahmeti, and has suspended the director of criminal investigations in this city, Hajri Kushe, after the serious incident of the kidnapping and rape of 32-year-old Ilir Topçiu. As VNA reported earlier, the Directorate of Professional Standards at the General Directorate of the State Police has launched a disciplinary investigation into the entire management chain of the Korça Police Department and the Devoll Police Commissariat, for failure to fulfill duties that have led to serious consequences.
In the official announcement, the State Police announces that the leadership chain of the Korça Local Police Directorate has not fulfilled its legal obligations and has not managed the situation properly.
Also, by order of the General Director, Director Islor Islami, who previously held the position of Director of the Local Directorate for Border and Migration in Kukes, has been temporarily appointed to the position of Director of the Korça DVP.
