The Tirana Prosecution Office has deepened its investigations into how Muçi Shaljani alias Sheqeri, who was killed in the assassination attempt at the Rinas roundabout, was employed at the Police Supervision Agency, along with Gilmando Dani, a former convicted extortionist and considered Emiljano Shullazi's right-hand man.
Prosecutor Bledar Valikaj has charged the former acting director of the AMP, Artjol Saliasi, with "abuse of office" charges, while he had previously held Gëzim Sala, the director of human resources at the Agency, criminally liable. The investigation has shown that Muçi Shaljani alias Sheqeri was employed as an agent under contract in violation of the law. At a time when it turns out that he was paid by not going to work at all, albeit for a few days.
The mafia assassination took place at noon on November 11, 2025 near the Mother Teresa International Airport. Gilmando Dani and Muçi Shaljani alias Sheqeri had just returned from Spain and were about to leave for Tirana when they were shot with a Kalashnikov rifle. Dani was killed on the spot, while Shaljani died later at the Trauma Hospital. Investigations into the Rinas assassination are being conducted by SPAK.
