An operation by the Rapid Intervention Forces (FNSH) and the Vlora Police has made it possible to free a person who was allegedly held hostage for two weeks by four people. The escorts, from the villages of Lumit i Vlorës, are suspected of having taken hostage a citizen from Kosovo, whom they were holding in an apartment near Rrugës e Re and demanding 70 thousand euros.
The incident came to light after the victim's sister, who lives in Sweden, notified the police, who intervened and identified the apartment where the person was being held hostage. Sources indicate that the hostage is suspected of being raped.
Vlora Police announced that investigations are continuing to fully document the event and further procedural actions are expected.
