A resident of the building that was engulfed in flames on Tuesday afternoon in the area known as "Farmacia 10", near the QSUT, has said that he spent the night outside after his apartment was damaged by the fire.
In a statement to the media, he said that the apartment, which he had purchased two years ago for 150 thousand euros, was completely destroyed by the flames.
"The house is 150 thousand euros, I bought it two years ago. It has become a complete ruin and no one will let you enter my house. I spent the night outside, I am from Dibra, I have no home here," he said.
According to preliminary information, it is suspected that around 30 apartments have been burned, while an exact balance is expected to be made public in the coming hours. In the meantime, authorities and emergency teams continue to be on the ground to assess the situation and determine the causes of the fire in the complex.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Edi Rama reacted through a post on social media, stating that the palace will be completely rebuilt by the builder. He stressed that the affected citizens should not face the consequences alone, while adding that the financial burden should not be passed on to taxpayers, but should be covered by insurance.
