Residents of Baks-Rrjoll protested this Wednesday in front of the Shkodra Prosecutor's Office, demanding an end to the year-long delays in investigations related to their properties. They publicly accused that the case is being kept blocked at the institution and that the investigations have been deliberately diverted, through changing the way questions are asked to topographic experts.
The protesters demanded a direct meeting with the heads of the prosecution and warned that they will not stop until the matter is fully clarified. Tensions have increased even more after an incident that occurred the day before in Lezha, where Gëzim Pjeshka, one of the active representatives of the area, was escorted to the police during an activity attended by Prime Minister Rama.
In a statement to the media, Pjeshka described the police intervention as unjustified, interpreting it as pressure on the community that opposes the project to build a tourist resort. For about three months, the residents of Baks-Rrjoll have continued their resistance against this project, which they consider to be a violation of property and damage to the environment.
