On April 27 at 11 am, the first trial session on the merits will take place at the Special Court to review the criminal case against former President Ilir Metaj, former MP Monika Kryemadhi and 3 other defendants.
The Meta-Kryemadhi couple have been charged with corruption, money laundering and concealment of assets. Both deny these charges and will begin facing justice.
Meta has been held in prison for two years, while Kryemadhi is being investigated under a mandatory reporting requirement.
