Pogradec police have arrested 27-year-old Kevi Muçllari, who was involved in a physical confrontation with municipal councilor Engjëll Shyti, during a Municipal Council meeting with the presence of citizens.
According to the police report, Muçllari has been arrested for the criminal offense of "Assault due to duty." The incident occurred at around 2:25 p.m. on the municipality premises, where he initially argued and insulted members of the Municipal Council, and then punched 47-year-old Shyti.
"Crime Investigation Specialists at the Pogradec Police Station arrested in flagrante delicto, for the criminal offense of 'Assault in the line of duty', citizen KM, 27 years old, resident of Pogradec. The materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further action," the police announced.
This incident follows the tensions of recent days in the Pogradec Municipal Council, where decisions regarding land in Çërrava have caused dissatisfaction and fierce debates among residents and councilors.
