The former director of Durres Prison, Indrit Cërloj, will remain in prison while being investigated on charges of abuse of office, following the escape of detainee Altin Ndoci, during a health visit to Durres Hospital last week.
The institution's doctor, Ylfete Sema, has also been placed under house arrest.
Last Saturday, the Durrës court remanded 3 of the 8 other people arrested for Altin Ndoc's escape in custody, while two others were placed under house arrest and three were ordered to appear.
