The Kune-Vain Lagoon embankment has broken again, bringing attention back to one of the main problems of this protected area. The phenomenon has occurred under unusual conditions, as there has been no rainfall in the area, which raises doubts about the structural weakening of the embankment.
Experts point out that the lack of long-term interventions to stabilize the embankment has favored erosion and increased water pressure on the lagoon. The responsible authorities have not yet provided details on the measures that will be taken to prevent the recurrence of such events.
