Ibraim Leimoeiv, one of the friends of Portuguese tourist Luis Miguel Varela Mendez, who was killed in Ksamil, explains the moment the fight started and then the attempt he made to save his friend after he was stabbed. He has identified the perpetrator as Sokrat Lipan alias Vata, who was arrested a few hours later in the trunk of a car in which two Turkish citizens were traveling.
Leimoeiv's testimony:
"Ibraim Leimoeiv, a French citizen, states that they were at the disco club "Principote" and were celebrating, then they went out and went to the sun loungers all together. A person came there, who was wearing shorts and a gray short-sleeved shirt who spoke a little French, who told us to calm down or I will…….mother. He then hit my friend Tourpal with it. We got involved in the conflict. During the conflict, other people came and I saw a person dressed in beige and white with long brown hair and a little beard, who pointed a knife at Tourpal and then pointed at Louis Miguel. There was a lot of movement and people there and I did not see the moment when Louis Miguel hit him. I then gave first aid to my friend by putting a shirt on the wound," the file where the Frenchman's testimony was revealed states.
When asked if he knew the person who stabbed him, he replied that if he saw him, he could recognize him, and after being shown a photo of citizen Sokrat Vata, he recognized him and stated that this was the person who had the knife and stabbed his friend.
