A US aircraft carrier and support warships have arrived in the Middle East, two US officials told Reuters, following Trump's order to increase the military presence in the region in case military action is needed against Iran.
The aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln and several guided-missile destroyers are also in the Middle East.
The US military did the same last year, organizing a major reinforcement ahead of attacks on Iran's nuclear program. The Pentagon has also deployed fighter jets and air defense systems there.
"Polish citizens who are in Iran must leave immediately," said Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, who warned that the escalation of the security situation in the region could make evacuation impossible within a few hours.
"Please leave immediately, all of you who are still in Iran, and under no circumstances travel to that country. I don't want to scare anyone, but we all know what I'm talking about. The possibility of a fierce conflict is very real," Tusk said.
The Polish Prime Minister warned that time for action is very limited.
"Within a few hours, the possibility of evacuation may no longer exist. Please take this warning very seriously. We have bad experiences from the past, when some people ignore these calls," Tusk also claimed.
The warning comes at a time of high tensions between Iran and the United States.
According to American sources, Tehran is expected to submit a written proposal to resolve the diplomatic impasse after talks held in Geneva.
