
The White House said today that it is "in Cuba's best interest" to begin making significant changes soon, but stopped short of calling for the overthrow of the island's government.
"This is a regime in decline. Their country is collapsing, so we believe it is in their best interest to make very significant changes, very quickly," White House spokeswoman Caroline Levitt said during a press conference.
Caroline Levitt added that the US wants to see flourishing and prosperous democracies around the world, especially in the Western Hemisphere.
But he added that he would not discuss any actions he would take to achieve this goal.
