It has been more than 24 hours since Israeli airstrikes on the Qatari capital, Doha, which Tel Aviv said targeted senior Hamas leaders.
Reactions continued throughout the day, with the UN Security Council adjourning its meeting until tomorrow to allow the Qatari prime minister to attend.
The Qatari government is demanding that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu be held accountable for violating international law, but Netanyahu has insisted that Israel was "fully justified" in targeting Hamas leaders who organized the October 7, 2023 attacks.
The White House ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, said earlier that "we just don't know" what impact these attacks will have on the Gaza ceasefire negotiations.
Meanwhile, Israel carried out new attacks in Yemen today, saying its air force hit “military camps,” the headquarters of the “Houthi military propaganda department” and a “fuel depot.”
According to the Houthi-controlled health ministry, cited by Reuters and AFP, 35 people were killed and 131 others were wounded.
In other developments, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer met today with Israeli President Isaac Herzog, who described the conversation as "direct" and "tough" on the situation in Gaza and the attacks in Doha. So far there has been no statement from Starmer after the meeting.
