Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that military cooperation between Israel and the United States is "historic," as the offensive against Iran and its allies continues.
During a visit to an air force base in the south of the country, Netanyahu said Israel is continuing strikes against Iranian targets and against elements linked to Hezbollah in Lebanon.
"We continue to strike targets of the terror regime in Iran and also terrorist elements in Lebanon. The cooperation between the US military and the IDF is historic," he declared.
According to the Israeli prime minister, the results so far are significant, but the operations will continue. "The results are significant, but there is still much work to be done. I want to thank once again my friend, President Donald Trump, for the cooperation between us and between Israel and the United States. Together we will continue and together we will achieve our objectives, with God's help," Netanyahu added.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump stated that Americans support military action against Iran and downplayed concerns about the impact of the war on US domestic politics.
In an interview with Politico, Trump said the operation is eliminating a major threat to the U.S. "People love what's happening. We're eliminating a threat to the United States of America, a significant threat, and we're doing it like no one has ever done before," he said.
Trump also rejected the idea that rising fuel prices due to the war with Iran could hurt Republicans in the upcoming US midterm elections.
