Iran's official IRNA news agency reported today that 1,230 people have been killed since the start of the US and Israeli bombing campaign against Iran on Saturday.
The French AFP was unable to verify the exact number of victims at the moment.
The previous count, broadcast yesterday, Wednesday, said 1,045 people, civilians and soldiers, had been killed.
"The number of martyrs of the military offensive reached 1,230 on March 5," Irna reported, citing a statement from the Martyrs and Veterans Foundation.
Earlier, the Red Crescent had also reported a high number of casualties since Saturday, the day the war between the US-Israel and Iran began.
Among the victims were Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, several of his family members, and the chain of command of the army and Revolutionary Guard.
