Kuwait has announced that it has faced a new Iranian attack, after air defense forces were activated to intercept missiles launched towards the country. The Kuwaiti Army Chief of Staff said in a statement that air defense systems were put into action to respond to the attack.
Kuwait, an oil-rich country that hosts the US air base at Ali al-Salem, has been among the countries hardest hit by Iranian attacks. Six US soldiers and two civilians have reportedly been killed in the attacks.
Meanwhile, the US State Department announced that it had suspended the activities of the US embassy in the Kuwaiti capital, urging American citizens to leave the country. According to Washington, there were no reports of injuries among embassy staff after the rocket attacks.
