The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, has stated that the United States has violated three clauses of the ceasefire agreement just hours after it came into force, calling it unreasonable to continue negotiations under these conditions.
In a statement published on the social network X, Ghalibaf said that Iran's "deep historical distrust" of the US stems from "repeated violations of every form of engagement," a pattern that he said "is being repeated once again."
He also pointed out that Donald Trump had described the Iranian proposal as a "viable basis for negotiations" and as the "main framework of the talks", although the White House later tried to retract this interpretation.
According to Ghalibaf, the three main violations are:
• Failure to comply with the first clause of the 10-point proposal for a ceasefire in Lebanon. This clause, he said, called for an immediate ceasefire on all fronts, including Lebanon and other regions, a formula that has also been mentioned by Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
• The entry of a drone into Iranian airspace, which according to Iranian authorities was shot down in the Lar area, in direct violation of the clause prohibiting any further violation of Iran's airspace.
• Denial of Iran's right to enrich uranium, which according to Ghalibaf was included in the sixth clause of the negotiating framework.
His statement adds to tensions surrounding the ceasefire agreement and casts doubt on the possibility of continuing negotiations in the coming days.
