Two ships attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz were reportedly attacked by the Revolutionary Guard after Iran announced a new blockade.
Meanwhile, the United Kingdom's Merchant Marine Operations report that they have recorded an incident near the strait northeast of Oman.
In the first audio clip, the captain of an Indian tanker that was shot down by the Iranian Navy is heard saying: "You gave us permission to move, why are you attacking us?"
The captain of a tanker said his vessel was approached by Iranian Revolutionary Guards warships, which opened fire, according to the Royal Navy-run organization. But the tanker and its crew are said to be safe.
In the second audio, the captain protests and sends a distress signal, while small arms fire is heard.
Earlier, during the brief reopening of the strait, several ships had begun moving through the shipping lane in what Reuters called the "first major movement" of ships in the strait since the start of the war.
