The Police Supervision Agency has reacted on the fourth day of the protest, announcing that it is verifying the footage published in the media and social networks to identify possible illegal actions by State Police employees.
The reaction comes after footage showing clashes and violence against protesters, including cases where people in civilian clothes, but also police officers, participated in the actions. AMP announced that it has engaged its structures on the ground in Tirana and other cities, while it is reviewing the film materials to determine whether there are legal violations and individual responsibility.
The agency emphasizes that it is cooperating with the State Police, while maintaining institutional independence, while cases that may constitute criminal offenses are being handled under the direction of the Tirana Prosecutor's Office.
However, the AMP's reaction on the fourth day of the protest raises questions about the timing of the response, while it remains to be seen whether the verifications will include all published footage and lead to the identification of those responsible, regardless of whether they are people in civilian clothes or police officers.
