Students, high school students and citizens returned to the streets of Tirana this Friday, continuing their anti-government protests for the fourth consecutive day. The rally began with participants gathering in the center of the capital, from where the march began.
Amid calls for the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama, young people have continued their mobilization, while the route that the march will follow during the day has not yet been announced.
The protests, which began in Tirana, have spread to other cities in the country, where students and high school students have taken to the streets and in some cases boycotted classes to join the movement.
The first three days of the rallies were marked by tensions and clashes between some protesters and police forces. During the incidents, hard objects were thrown at officers and buildings, while attempts to set public institutions on fire were also recorded.
Several private businesses have not been spared from the incidents, which have suffered material damage. However, these episodes do not represent all participants in the protests, among whom there are many young people who have chosen to express their dissatisfaction peacefully.
Despite tensions and police interventions over the previous days, protesters have decided to continue the rallies, keeping open the confrontation with the government and the demand for the prime minister's resignation.
