A student burst into tears during a protest in Tirana, expressing her outrage at the government and the difficult conditions young Albanians live in. She called for the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama, noting that students protested peacefully for three months, but their demands were ignored.
"They are taking away our future. We came out peacefully for three months, no one listened to us," the young woman said, warning that the protests will continue every day.
The student listed the main demands, starting with the removal of the prime minister, improving conditions in dormitories, respect for the law, and an end to police violence. She emphasized that young people are not asking for privileges, but for the most minimal rights.
Outraged by police interventions, she has warned of the consequences that violence against protesters could bring, saying that a fatal incident could cause widespread citizen reaction.
Part of her statement was also dedicated to the damage caused during the protests. The student apologized for the private businesses affected, but at the same time called for attacks on state institutions, including Parliament.
She also responded to MPs who questioned the students' participation in the protests. The young woman revealed that she studied at the Faculty of Economics and was forced to work alongside her studies for five years.
Through tears, the student confessed that she is alone in Albania, as her parents, sister and brother live in exile. According to her, it is precisely these difficulties and lack of perspective that have pushed her to protest, while she also called on parents to support the young people.
The young woman also accused those in power of enriching themselves with citizens' taxes, mentioning Belinda Balluku and luxury properties. She also criticized the treatment that, according to her, the police give to students, comparing it to the way Vlora Hyseni was treated, which she mentioned in connection with Ergys Agas.
The student also raised concerns about the inability of young people to buy a home with their current salaries. She said that many of them are forced to share apartments with strangers in order to cover their living expenses.
In conclusion, the young woman declared that the students will not withdraw from the protest, despite police intervention.
"Let them rape as much as they want, they cannot defeat our voice," she said, closing her reaction with the words: "We have nothing left to lose."
