Vlora Police have confirmed the arrest of a 35-year-old physical education teacher at the “Hajredin Beqari” Unified School, following complaints from seven female students for sexual harassment. The teacher has been transferred to the Vlora detention facility, where he will remain awaiting a hearing to assess the security measure, which is expected to take place in the coming days.
Of the seven students who reported the case, two have retracted their initial statements, while the other five continue to maintain their claims that they were confronted with inappropriate words and behavior by the teacher. According to police information, during verifications conducted on the 35-year-old's phone, no harassing messages were found.
The case is now expected to be reviewed by the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Vlora, which will evaluate the evidence and statements of the parties. The students' testimonies and the materials administered during the investigation are expected to be part of the judicial review to clarify the circumstances of the complaints against the teacher.
