Students will gather again this Saturday, November 7, at 2:00 PM, in front of the Ministry of Education in Tirana, in another national protest against the government. At the center of their demands remains the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama, while organizers have announced a new phase of mobilization.
After more than 150 days of protests, the "Students in Protest" movement has decided to change its strategy, organizing two national rallies a week, every Wednesday and Saturday, at 2:00 PM.
According to the organizers, this decision aims to increase participation and strengthen pressure on the government, which, according to them, continues to ignore the demand for the prime minister's removal.
In the published statement, the students say they are prepared for a long-term confrontation, accusing the government of autocratic tendencies and lack of response to citizens' demands.
They have also announced that they will support any other civic protests against the government, regardless of the time of organization.
Meanwhile, the Democratic Party has also announced a protest for this Saturday. Its leader, Sali Berisha, announced that the democrats' rally will start at 12:00, in support of the student protests.
However, relations between students and the opposition remain tense, as in the October 31 protest, young people expelled several Democratic MPs, considering them also responsible for the situation in the country.
With the new protest calendar, the students aim to maintain the continuity of the movement and increase political pressure, insisting that they will not back down from demanding Edi Rama's resignation.
