After the 2-0 victory over Slovenia in Ljubljana, the Kosovo National Team has mathematically secured the play-offs for the 2026 World Cup, marking a historic success. However, the dream of direct qualification remains possible, unlike Albania, which no longer has a chance for first place. In the last match of the qualifiers, Kosovo will host Switzerland at the “Fadil Vokrri”.
To achieve direct qualification, the Dardans must win by at least 6 goals, an extremely difficult challenge considering the form of Switzerland, which has so far recorded 4 wins and 1 draw, without a loss. Captain Granit Xhaka emphasized after the match the great challenge that awaits Kosovo, while coach Franco Foda and his team are focused on a positive result.
Kosovo has already made history by securing the play-offs, while any further success, including a direct qualification to the World Cup, would be beyond the dream for the Dardanians.
