At the Prilep city stadium, during the Second League match between KF Pobeda and KF Shkëndija Haraçinë 77, a series of serious incidents of a racial and nationalistic nature were recorded, which have shocked the sports environment and the community.
The home fans reportedly chanted unacceptable phrases towards the visiting Albanian players, including expressions such as " gas chamber for Albanians " and racist insults such as " monkeys ".
In addition to the insults, there are also reports of attempts to enter the Shkëndija team's locker room after the match, which reinforces the fact that the situation went beyond ordinary sporting rivalry.
After the match, KF Shkëndija 77 issued an official response, severely condemning the behavior of Pobeda fans.
"The scenes that were seen today at the Prilep stadium do not at all resemble football and the sporting spirit that this sport should represent. What happened in the stands and around the field are not scenes that should be shown at a football match," the club's response states.
The club emphasizes that racial insults and provocations cannot be justified by anything:
"Racial insults, provocations and ugly behaviour do not help the sport – on the contrary, they damage the image of football, the club and the competition itself. As a club, we strongly condemn these shameful actions which violate the dignity and safety of our players and fans."
KF Shkëndija 77 demands that the Football Federation of Macedonia react immediately and take concrete measures against the organizers of the match.
"We ask the Federation to take appropriate measures and give the deserved punishments to the organizers of this match, so that such events do not happen again. Football is a game that unites - not divides," the club's response states.
The match ended with the victory of KF Shkëndija Haraçinë 77 with a score of 1–0, but the atmosphere in the stadium was beyond the norms of regular sport.
