Farmers in the Myzeqe area are facing unprecedented damage to their crops this year. Floods have caused significant losses and, even where the land escaped the waters, frosts in the first few days of the year have severely damaged production.
One of the affected farmers is Fatjon Asllani from the Zharrëza area, who has been forced to destroy all of his greenhouse tomato production due to frost. The same problems are also reported in the Frakulli area, where farmers cultivating strawberries and cucumbers in greenhouses have suffered significant damage.
Farmers affected, both by frost and floods, are hoping for state intervention, at least to create the possibility of replanting their lands and restoring agricultural activity.
