After the flames, the residents of the burned building also face theft

Three days after the fire that engulfed the "Arlis" building in Tirana, the affected residents are facing another serious problem, beyond the damage caused by the flames: the theft of materials and items left in the damaged apartments.

According to the complaint made by Besfort Kryeziu, unauthorized persons were found entering the premises of the burned building and taking recyclable materials, as well as parts of electrical appliances that were still left at the scene.

Residents are concerned about the lack of security and are calling for the immediate intervention of the State Police to establish permanent patrols in the area. They point out that, in addition to the losses from the fire, they are also suffering from the looting of what is left.

According to them, the authorities should have taken immediate measures by surrounding the building and prohibiting any unauthorized person from approaching the damaged apartments, in order to preserve the property and guarantee security.

Residents appeal for an urgent response from the relevant institutions, demanding not only physical protection of the facility, but also an investigation to identify and punish those responsible for the thefts.
