Activist Baki Goxhaj has decided to join the international humanitarian mission "Global Sumud Flotilla", which is currently in Crete. This mission aims to send humanitarian aid to Gaza and express international solidarity with the population affected by the crisis.
According to him, the decision to engage in this initiative comes after a long period of following the developments in Gaza and their deep emotional impact. Goxhaj has also been critical of Albania's official stance, stating that he feels embarrassed by the reaction of Albanian institutions regarding the situation in Gaza, including the stance of Prime Minister Edi Rama. According to him, this has been one of the additional reasons that have pushed him to undertake a more active engagement on the ground.
The “Global Sumud Flotilla” is an initiative that aims to draw global public attention to the humanitarian situation in Gaza, as well as provide assistance to affected civilians. The participation of activists from various countries, including Albania, is considered an effort to increase international pressure and encourage a broader institutional response to the crisis.
