Shortly after the closing of the voting process in Kosovo, the first exit polls have been published. According to estimates, Pristina will go to a runoff. The race in the capital will be decided between the current mayor, Përparim Rama of the Democratic League of Kosovo, and Hajrulla Çeku of the Vetëvendosje Movement.
Another surprise is Mitrovica, where the Democratic Party of Kosovo candidate, Arian Tahiri, seems to have won in the first round against the current Minister of Agriculture, Faton Peci, who is also co-chair of the Guxo Party, but is running under the banner of the Vetëvendosje Movement.
According to exit polls, Ferizaj has also been decided in the first round with the current PDK mayor Agim Aliu receiving over 50% of the votes.
According to exit polls, Gjilan will also go to a runoff between the current mayor from LVV, Alban Hyseni, and Arbër Ismajli of LDK.
