Police have arrested the wife of the doctor from Kumanovo, Zekirija Shahini, who was injured in an armed attack in the center of Kumanovo a few days ago. She is suspected of being involved in the attempted murder of him.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that the 43-year-old woman from Tetovo was detained by the Kumanovo police unit, while six other people were summoned for interview in connection with the case. Also, a court order was issued to search the home of a 50-year-old man from Kumanovo.
"After the full documentation of the case, a criminal report for attempted murder will be filed against the arrested person. Meanwhile, a 36-year-old man from Gostivar is also being sought, suspected of being the perpetrator of the shooting of doctor Shahini, who is on the run," the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced.
Doctor Zekirija Shahini, who is a candidate for councilor in the municipality of Lipkovo, was shot by a masked person on October 6, and is out of danger after receiving medical treatment at the Kumanovo Hospital.
