
Kosovo voted today from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., in a process that was considered peaceful. According to the Kosovo Central Election Commission, only 38.87% of citizens voted, marking a decrease of about 4% compared to the 2021 local elections.
The first exit polls published by the Kosovo media speak of an interesting race in several municipalities. The preliminary result in Gracanica was considered surprising, where for the first time a municipality led by the Serbian community, mainly the Serbian list, is aiming for leadership with the Alliance for Albanians. LVV, LDK, PDK, AAK have come together. This situation has also increased the participation of citizens to vote. The joint candidate of the Alliance is Leutrim Ajeti, who currently holds the position of vice-mayor.
There will be a runoff in Prizren and Peja. The first polls published in the Kosovo media speak of a second round that will determine the winner of the municipalities in Prizren and Peja. Specifically, in Prizren, the Democratic Party of Kosovo is leading. Shaqir Totaj (PDK) has received 43.3%, Artan Abrashi (LVV) 30.4%, Driton Selmanaj (LDK) 11.1% and Zafir Berisha 4.2%
According to the results in Mitrovica, Arian Tahiri of PDK has received 55%, Faton Peci of LVV has received 39.7% and Gëzim Plakolli of LDK has 4.4%.
Pristina is being divided between LDK and LVV. According to exit polls by Kosovo media, Përparim Rama of LDK is leading in Pristina with 35.82%. He is followed by Hajrulla Çeku of LVV with 31.57% of the votes, followed by Uran Ismaili of PDK with 26.05%. They are followed by Bekë Berisha of AAK with 4.24%.
