The Central Election Commission (CEC) in Kosovo has begun publishing preliminary results from the early parliamentary elections, while the vote counting process is continuing across the country.
According to the data so far, about 81 percent of the ballot boxes have been counted by the evening hours. Preliminary results show a clear lead for the Vetëvendosje Movement, which is leading with over 50 percent of the votes counted so far.
In second place is the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), which secured 20.36 percent of the votes, while the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) comes in third with 14.15 percent.
The CEC has announced that the publication of results will continue progressively, while the figures remain preliminary until the full completion of the counting process and the official certification of the results.
The early parliamentary elections were held in a calm climate, with broad citizen participation, while the coming days are expected to bring complete clarity on the new composition of the Kosovo Assembly and the possibilities for forming the next government.
