Only one week separates the political scene in Macedonia from what the leaders of the WLEN coalition describe as the largest unification of the Albanian political bloc in the country.
The VLEN coalition has announced that on May 9, Europe Day, it will transform from an alliance of several entities into a single political structure, with a common name, direction and mission.
According to the announcement, around 850 branch representatives are expected to participate in this event, who will confirm the merger of the five political entities into a single organization.
VLEN emphasizes that this step puts an end to, as they call it, the long political fragmentation among Albanians and opens a new phase with a unified approach and coordinated policy.
The coalition assesses that the division of recent years has often been presented as political pluralism, while personal interests, according to them, have dominated the common interest.
The choice of May 9 is not accidental, according to VELEN, as Europe Day symbolizes unity and shared values, which now, according to them, must take concrete political form in the Albanian camp in the country.
They state that the new structure aims for stronger representation of Albanians, with a clear political platform and a single voice in institutions, adding that this process will not be received positively by everyone, especially by those who, according to them, have benefited from previous divisions.
