The leader of the LDK, Lumir Abdixhiku, after the failure of the presidential election, has sharply criticized the way the political process has developed and the lack of agreement between the parties.
In a press conference, he accused Albin Kurti and Vetëvendosje of excessive thirst for power and inability to reach political agreement, emphasizing that the opposition had offered alternatives and concrete names for institutional solutions, but without success.
According to Abdixhiku, the process in the Assembly has been misused and managed in an irregular manner, making it difficult to ensure a quorum and make decisions for the president.
He also focused on the name of Vjosa Osmani, emphasizing that she is a figure worthy of the position of president, but that her name has been used more as a means to ensure a quorum than as a sincere political choice.
"We have given the opportunity and the name for president. In the end, it was seen that the name of Vjosa Osmani was intended more as a means to quorum. We see Vjosa as more than that, as a worthy president. Kurti did not want Vjosa, but the people will love her," he declared.
Abdixhiku added that LDK will enter a new political phase, aiming to unite right-wing forces and build a new offer for more stable institutions.
