Prime Minister Edi Rama stated that Albanian universities are designing new interdisciplinary programs for artificial intelligence, digital systems and nanoscience, with the aim of creating a new generation of innovators who will advance the economy, industry and governance in the country.
"This is not a luxury or something special - it is a necessity of the present. Our vision is that within the next decade, every young Albanian who aspires to study the technologies of the future will do so here, at home," Rama said.
He said that partnerships are being sought with European universities and research institutes to align curricula with international standards, while the first results are "encouraging".
"This investment is about creating space for people who think innovatively. I dare to say that we aim for a generation of innovators who will advance the Albanian industry, economy and governance. Albania is committed to ensuring that every euro invested in science is translated into tangible progress and opportunities for our youth," the Prime Minister emphasized.
Finally, in a humorous tone, he added: “I look forward to working closely with the Academy of Sciences and its ‘dictator’ to make things even more tangible.”
