Former Democratic official, Fatbardh Kadilli, has expressed his willingness to run for Tirana Mayor if he were to receive an offer, while adding that to do so, a true unity among the opposition forces would be needed.
However, he added in an interview with A2 CNN that it was not just about him, but about finding a unifying project for the opposition, which, according to him, would lead to the victory of the opposition candidate in the Tirana Municipality.
Kadilli continued by saying that the opposition needs people who have demonstrated a strong identity, who have demonstrated independence from the leader and honesty.
"I would be honored to have the responsibility of such a challenge for Tirana. But this, like everything, has a but. Is there true unity? Is there true reflection? Will we give up the strategies and machinations to hide the truth and contribute to everyone? Will we manage to unite the entire opposition spectrum? If these are possible, I would be honored to have such a challenge. But it is not about me. It is about finding a unifying political project. And here I mean people who have the will to understand.
We have a DP in decline in the opposition, we have several parties that are more precisely leaders without a party, we also have a radical left movement, puritanical in appearance, that has come to the fore. And their challenge is an effective strategy for them, to get maximum votes. And where does their advantage lie? We need people who have shown a strong identity, who have shown independence from the leader and honesty", said Kadilli, among other things.
