Prime Minister Edi Rama reiterated today that there were external factors that wanted to hinder the new port of Durres. But the Prime Minister refused to make public the names of the countries or factors that are exerting pressure to hinder this government project.
"I said twice that the company's withdrawal was justified by the crisis and we have no data to give us an idea of where there may have been any pressure. But it is certain that various factors, for reasons of interests of different natures, and I mentioned what these interests may be, do not welcome the construction of a new port. This is an economic war, it is also an internal war of interests," said Rama.
The Prime Minister's failure to mention names further raises questions about the veracity of these claims and the project in question, as it is not only one of the most important projects for the country, but it is also one of the investments with the greatest weight in the budget.
