A day after the Assembly, with 82 votes in favor, decided to reject SPAK's request for permission to arrest Belinda Balluku, the former Deputy Prime Minister and former Minister of Infrastructure and Energy set the Special Court in motion.
Through a request that will be reviewed at 3:00 PM by special judge Erion Çela, the former number two in the government is requesting the termination of the security measure and suspension from exercising his functions.
The lawyers argue in the request that the restraining order has no effect in the case of Belinda Balluku, because she has been dismissed from her positions as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister.
The Fier district deputy has been placed under a security measure of "ban on leaving the country" which remains in force, at least until the High Court reviews the appeal filed by Balluku. The latter is being investigated by SPAK for abuses with road tenders worth millions of euros.
