Prime Minister Edi Rama has suspended his press conference for 5 minutes after a clash with Syri TV journalist Ambrozia Meta.
The clash began after the journalist asked Rama why the government did not act with the former deputy prime minister the same way it acts with citizens who do not pay their electricity bills or build without a permit.
The Prime Minister did not take this parallel well and opposed the journalist, emphasizing that the criminal penalty is only related to energy theft and not to non-payment of bills.
The debate with the journalist became further tense when Rama addressed her, telling her that she represents a television station that, according to him, has been reported to the Prosecutor's Office by state institutions for money laundering.
After this clash, Rama decided to temporarily suspend the conference for five minutes, an unusual move during his public communications with the media.
