At the end of the closed-door meeting of the Democratic Party leadership, Ervin Salianji responded to accusations that he lobbied the Democrats' parliamentary group for the candidacy of Endrit Shabani.
During the leadership meeting, Elda Hoti and Blendi Himçi stated that they were asked by the former MP to sign for Shabani. In his reaction to the media, Salianji ironized these claims, stating: "I signed the signatures even though I am not an MP."
Salianji also touched on the organization of protests and the revolt against the government, in relation to the Rama-Balluku scandal. He said he is pleased that the decision-making for the protest on December 22 has gone in the direction he had long sought.
"The organization of protests and revolt against the government due to the Rama-Balluku scandal, I was happy that the decision-making for the protest on the 22nd went where I have long sought, to have protests and revolt. I am glad that in four hours there was a protest against the dissatisfied democrats and half an hour against Balluku", said Salianji.
Asked by reporters whether the leadership meeting was directed against him, Salianji denied this interpretation, emphasizing that there were different opinions at the meeting.
"No, there were different opinions. We will move forward. Every change does not come without sacrifice and conflict. We will respond to every accusation and every idiocy with concrete facts," he concluded.
