Parliament convened today in two separate sessions, but more than for important discussions or decisions, eyes were turned to movements, appearances, and debates outside the official agenda.
The MPs arrived one after another at the Assembly, in an atmosphere that resembled more a political parade than an intensive workday.
One of the most talked-about returns was that of Jozefina Topalli, who, after many years of absence from the parliamentary scene, appeared in the hall today. The former Speaker of the Assembly was seen smiling and in good spirits, despite the media buzz of recent days about her son's luxurious wedding in Rome — an event that has sparked debate on social networks and the media.
On the other hand, tensions were not lacking. One of the most prominent moments was recorded during the exit from the hall, where MP Mesila Dodaj clashed verbally with Ulsi Manjë. The debate between them, which took place in front of colleagues and cameras, showed once again the tense climate that often characterizes the Albanian political scene.
The following photos document the moments of MPs leaving the chamber — a mix of style, mimicry, and some political tension that make Parliament today more of a spectacle than a decision-making institution.
Parade? No doubt. Work? A little.
