After objections from the opposition, the majority approved the changes to the Rules of Procedure of the Assembly with 79 votes in favor, while the opposition was absent from the hall during the vote.
The Speaker of the Assembly, Niko Peleshi, led the procedure for voting on draft decisions and amendments to the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament.
However, the opposition MPs who were present during the discussions left the session after the speech of the DP leader, Sali Berisha. Berisha demanded that the majority withdraw, considering the change a violation of the Constitution. But the request was not taken into account.
So Peleshi requested a vote of presence and the voting procedure, the DP deputies and their allies left the room. The majority continued with the vote, approving the changes with 79 votes in favor, without any against or abstentions.
The plenary session will continue at 5:00 PM.
