Ervin Salianji, although he was at the protest organized by the DP today, it seems that he will not be in the party structures for long. At least, this is the decision of the secretary general Flamur Noka, who immediately after the protest against the government has decided to remove Salianji from the WhatsApp group of the DP leadership.
Although the press office of this party was careful to distribute the headline: "Berisha invites all opposition parties and factors to an anti-government front", the closure of the protest was enough for Ervin Salianji to be expelled, first from the leadership chat and then, most likely, officially from the forums, as the leader of the DP has warned, who in his recent public appearances has not hidden his annoyance and concern from the recent meetings in Gjirokastër, Durrës and Elbasan.
These divisive movements within the DP come at a time when Edi Rama's government is going through its most serious crisis since coming to power in 2013, while the DP is plagued by divisions and long-standing opposition.
Those who came out today claiming that they would overthrow Rama with their popular revolt and would not move from the square until the regime was overthrown, at least managed to remove, if not the real enemy, then the internal one from their ranks. They certainly could not remove Rama from office, but they settled their accounts with Salianji.
